Hey everyone. I just wanted to clear some things up for all the skeptics about Kevin Talley.
I've met the guy. I saw him in columbus at the road rage show and found him outside after the show. I was the first guy to mention dying fetus to him that night and we instantly struck up a conversation. A nice guy from what I know (I only talked to him for about 10 minutes) but everyone that judges him from what he said on the dvd...don't. In my opinion, they should have given more footage of him with the band. But if you listen to the commentary, the band talks about how sarcastic of a guy he is. I admit, he probably didn't make the greatest first impression, but give him a chance.
As far as his performance, I've heard him in dying fetus and was amazed. Not a doubt in my mind that he's going to bring even more greatness to chimaira. Sure it's mostly blast beats, but he's so fast and... download some fetus songs and judge for yourself. (download "For us or against us")
I've seen all 3 drummers live and while I wish Andols was still in the band, Kevin is a perfect replacement. I've got IOP memorized and I was listening and judging his performance. He's got it down. I remember listening to Sitgmurder and picking out certain spots to listen for to see his accuracy. He did it. I have a lot of confidence in him and can't wait to see what he's going to bring us in Chimaira.
Chimaira's my favorite band and Dying fetus is in the top 5. If Andols doesn't want to be in Chimaira, and Kevin Doesn't want to be in Fetus, I was thrilled to hear that Chimaira enjoyed his drumming as much as I did. There's not a doubt in my mind that he was the perfect choice for Chimaira to live on.
