just got back from Astoria

Ive only recently got into chimaira ~ fuckin love Lazarus ~ remember readin somewhere that they would never play this, but they did tonight, the whole place went crazy

ive only got their 'chimaira' album ~ fav songs
~Nothing remains, Pure hatred, the dehumanzing process and Lazarus

Yeah that was awesome last night, fucking intense for the size of the venue, It looked like a fucking warzone when Nothing Remains started.

Oh my sweet jesus Dark Tranquility were fucking awful.

Yeah man I was in it aswell, I just decided I would watch from the back for the beginning, it was insane! Shame about the lack of wall in dehumanizing, but the pit was still great haha.

dude i was at that show chimaira kicked ass compaired to dark tranquility, and i met jim as well and shook his hand .... im never washing this hand again.

yeh when me and mates talked to jim before they got on stage, we asked him if they were going to do the wall of death, he said no because to many people get hurt lol

I don't think DT were bad, I just think an hour set was too long when 95% of the audience were there solely to see Chimaira. Still, I'd rather be watching a band playing than just standing around waiting for something to happen.

i love DT on cd... but live they really did suck... very boring.. and the bass player seemed to be clapping his hands in the air more than actully playing his bass...

lol harsh but so true . . . . but i mean people were cheering when they took down the dark tranquillity banner and put up the chimaira one. was hate sphere any good? i showed up late so didnt get to see 'em.

I thnk people were cheering purely because of the chimaira banner, not because the DT one was being taken down. I did hear a ky-meer-ra chant start towards the end of DT's set though.

yeh, ino my mates didnt like them much and the blokes behind me didnt think to fond of them. i thought they were alright just didnt have the crowd on this ocation what makes alot of diffrence.

Dark Tranquility were quite possibly the worst band i have ever had the displeasure of sitting through. The frontman was dreadful :684:

I was hungover from my works Christmas night out but i reckon if i had been 100% i still would rather poke sharp sticks in my eyes than watch that DT tripe again. Thought Chimaira were good but not as shit hot as last year. Felt like they have maybe lost a wee bit of edge. Couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Exactly. I didn't understabd why Dark Tranquility had the same length of time onstage as Chimaira as I believe the majority of people were there to see Chimaira and on the posters, Dark Tranquility were written in small writing under Chimaira, so it definately wasnt a double headliner. Dark Tranquility's set dragged because most of you people probably hadn't heard most the songs before so it would seem like they went on forever. Me however, had heard every song minus two and so they didn't seem like they played for too long.
