no offence man, but if you're gonna see chimaira for one song, you're wasting space in the first place.

yes that is my site. i have that logo because NOBODY has ever known was it was or has told me they did. You are the first person who actually knew and my sites been up for a long time. haha.. its a cool logo, besides they changed the logo to be more modern so i took the old one.

and to the rest: thanks, and glad you all liked them so far.

The logo is from thunderdome.
Thunderdome = "dance"-hardcore = fast boem boem boem boem boem.

I don't know why, but it is very populair in Holland :\

Nah, on topic:

Cool site and very cool pictures dude

Maybe but.. i didnt go because they wouldnt of played a full set. Next they tour should be a headlining tour so the set will be better and longer meaning i get more for my money. Plus the other bands playing didnt appeal to me so made sense

it was one of those shows that will just never get played again. first they played with a single guitarist, and the last. they played half of implements if I remember correctly, and closed with "sex type thing". so different. they even played indifferent to suffering. jim does the backing vocals for that track. it was great.

“Last night we did the show (in Liverpool) then just went out drinking and stuff at bars, like we usually do. As we were walking back to the venue, there was probably like seven of us or something, but we were in kinda in groups of like twos and threes or whatever, walking. One of the groups, with our new drummer Ricky (Evensand) and our drum tech The Hammer, somebody knocked one of their drinks outta their hands or something like that and the guys were yellin’ ‘fuck you’ and stuff like that, so we just kept going. We’re like ‘let’s just go back’ (to the venue) y’know, because we had some trouble in London last week too. Hammer got arrested. But we’re not a trouble band man, we’re never lookin’ for trouble. We’re just out, hanging out and some of these dudes fuck with us. So we just kept going. Next thing I know Matt’s getting jumped. They had him on the ground, a bunch of guys kickin’ him, so I just jumped in and tackled guys and then there was a few guys on me and stuff. Then, I don’t know somehow we got pulled out and took off again.”

“There was like thirty of them. When Matt was getting hit he was by himself with all these guys so there was nothing I could do, I just ran in and tried to tackle them. Then there was just guys everywhere on their side, so that’s why we just tried to pick up our guys and get the fuck out. I got a few shots right in the head, few in the back of the head, but it could have been worse. Matt made it to the hospital. He got stitches in his head. I haven’t talked to him, he’s probably pretty bad. He got beat up pretty good, fucking assholes... Tonight we’re going to try to make the show to go on without him. It would be different if it was the drummer or Mark (vocals) or something where you y’know, but still we always want to play as one hundred per cent Chimaira every might but we’re over here, out of the country and everything like that, we might as well make it happen.”

Rob Arnold, lead guitarist with Chimaira, is pissed off and rightly so. After completing their show in Liverpool on Valentine’s Night the band and their crew were jumped by scumbags while on their way back to the venue and their bus. The resulting fracas left rhythm guitarist Matt DeVries in such a state that he had to stay in hospital overnight and as a result could not travel to Ireland for their Dublin show. This leaves Chimaira in a bit of a predicament, but they battle on through, eventually deciding to continue with the show with singer Mark Hunter taking over Matt’s guitar duties. The gig is far from perfect but the effort Chimaira put in is admirable. It is easy to see why this bunch of Americans are being tipped as the future of Heavy Metal.

Rob however is in no mood to conduct an interview. Little did he realise that the name of this tour would become a reality. ‘Pure Hatred’, directed solely at the band. The guitarist is wearing a Guinness T-shirt, a black beanie hat that hides his long hair and he is sporting a vicious looking red and black bruise on the upper right hand side of his lip. A souvenir from the night before. Apart from that incident however the shows have been going well. Rob has been happy with the turnouts and the response from their fans.

Chimaira are the leaders of the New Wave Of American Heavy Metal, a term coined to show the turnaround from the 1980s when the Heavy Metal scene was dominated by the big names from Britain. Iron Maiden and Judas Priest led an assault that was called the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). Now this is the sound from the States showing the Brits how it should be done. Since the release of last years mammoth The Impossibility Of Reason opus, Chimaira have been rolling around the world, almost non-stop. Does this constant touring take its toll though?

“Only if you don’t like it”, Rob explains, “I mean there’s days that I’m tired. Someday’ I wish I could have a day off or something or stuff like that, but for the most part I love it. I love getting up there and playing guitar every-night, I love partying, I love hanging out, being with my friends and stuff so, I couldn’t ask for anything else.” After the ‘Pure Hatred’ tour runs its course Chimaira are off the on the road again. This time around it will be a quick few dates with God Forbid and Full Blown Chaos, followed by an opening slot on the Slipknot, Fear Factory tour.
