Ok, This is sort of a question for mark, but everyone n the board can answer the second question.

Question 1: Mark, DId you watch the Stanley Kurbrick version fo the shining, have you read the book, have you seen the Stephen Kind the Shining Tv Miniseries? Just wondering

Question 2: Mark and people on the board, if you have seen both movies, which did you like better?

I love how at the Chimaira Christmas show this past December there were those "Shining" music samples before you guys played Pictures in the Gold Room. That was totally tits!

im not a huge fan of the movie all in all. I find it too long and shit. its good every once in awhile though. I like both versions though, I like to look of the TV miniseries one but the first one is also great cause its the origional.

Im not a fan of overacted long winded movies. But the book was just as bad, and the new(er) version of it was kinda lame.

The Shining is one of the greatest horror movies of all time. There are no substitutes.

Stanley Kubrick is a badass. He died way too prematurely.

No, The Shining is a horror movie. Silence of the Lambs is a thriller.

I always had the opinion that The Shinning was more of a psychological horror type of a movie.

I saw The Shining for the first time a couple of months ago.

It certainly wasnt what I expected, and was really underwhelming actually. Dunno what it is about Kubricks movies, but they seem to get over hyped, and then when I go and watch them, I wonder what the big deal was about.

That said, I did love the score for The Shining, and it explains alot about "Pictures".

Horses ass, Kubrick's movies are some of the best, and The Shining is definetly one of them. Although I prefer A Clockwork Orange over this movie.

-the Shining is my favorite horror movie.
-Kubrick is brilliant, his movies have spoiled me and now i think just about everything else blows from a directing stand point.
