:p hey my name is amy. i just joined the board. but yeah there is a concert coming up in cleveland ohio, at the scene pavillion on july 5th, 2005 for the sounds of the underground tour. is anybody planning on going? i went to the chimaira christmas show on december 30, 2004 and it was the best show that i have ever been too! i love chimaira hehe..mark hunter is my idol 8-) i would DIE to meet chimaira they inspire me a lot to write my songs and everything. if anyone gets any news on chimaira let me know ;)

I've only seen them twice. Once at The Odeon and the other time at Hellfest 2003. I talked with the both times. Was gonna join them on their bus but they had an issue to take care of, so the plan depleated.

thats awesome some of yah' got to meet with the guys. i absolutley love mark hunter and the band members. their music is my life. i wish i could meet them, i ran into jim (literally bumped into him) at the chimaira christmas show and of course my stupid a$s was so shocked i didnt say anything....i was just amazed and i didnt know what to do, i kinda just froze up and smiled at him...i thought i was going to pass out! lol but if i ever get the chance to meet them i definatley will! i cant wait untill their next show!....oh...and does anybody know anything about their new cd ??

I just remembered seeing them at Ozzfest. I wasn't really familiar with them, though my friend was because she knows everyone and everything. Anyway, we got bored and decided to go stand next to them and watch them sign autographs whilst hydrating ourselves. I was thinking, "Gee... the singer looks kinda pissed off." Then I thought, "I bet in a year I'll be a huge fan and be kickin' myself in the ass for not shootin' the shit." Sure enough...

I think that they're are a lot of people who dont give Chimaira the credit that they deserve. Their lyrics, are deep, they have true talent. I agree- they are UNDERRATED. But they are my favorite, they are god!

OK, I haveta say that Chimaira isnt one of my favorite bands, although i will sure be buying their new album the day it comes out, and they are extremely underrated. My three best friends at school never listened to anything. I tried to get them into Slipknot, DImmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Slayer... Megadeth, Metallica (etc. etc.), and they never got into them. I played Down Again and Sp lit for them. Guess what? They love them. Now if we talk about music theyre always into Chimaira. I can gaurantee non of them have bought an album in they're life, and i can guarantee that they will be buying the new Chimaira album the day it comes out with me. Sweeeet.

I'm going to SOTU on June 28th... can't fuckin wait. I hope Chimaira plays at least 2 new songs, that'd be fresh. I'm curious to see the GWAR half-time show.. I also wanna know how long the sets are each. I know Lamb Of God's set will own everyone elses because they are the headliner, but the concert starts at noon so I hope every band plays like a half-hour set and then LOG will probly do a 45 minute one or more.. that's just what I'm hoping for. but, to get back on topic.. I've never met anyone from Chimaira but I would really love to. I've met Randy from Lamb Of God, he's cool as hell... anyways, can't wait for the tour and the new Chimaira.

When i listen to old chimaira tunes from the This Present Darkness EP and some of POOE i think slipknot and fear factory. But TIOR is totally different then all of that.

Some of Mark's vocals on This Present Darkness definitely have a Korn/Deftones feel to them. But overall this EP is harder than anything either of those bands have put out, especially Korn.

Iowa has maybe 3 or 4 really good songs on it, the rest is kinda blah. Many of the tracks have some good riffs but then this is outweighed by some crappy riffs and stupid lyrics. I cannot listen to this album without pushing skip several times. Also to note is the song Left Behind, not only does this song suck to me but all of these poser Slipknot fans at my school started acting like it was the hardest shit ever or some crap. Fuck that.

yea...the album is meh....it sounds like they tried way too hard to reproduce another s/t album. Some songs are ok but others are really annoying as fuck. The skip button really gets a work out on Iowa.

Its because the song is about a girl named puity who was buried alive and died. They never found the killer. Supposedly thats why....

Thats the story that goes along with the song. The case was found to be untrue so they were forced to take it off of the CD and re-print it. In the digi-pack though they have "Despise" which is the Purity demo so its basicly the same thing anyways.
