Posting this for him as he has limited access to the internet right now:
Took off at about 3pm and got up to Chitown at 4:10(hour behind) and went in and ate the “Pass the Line” pizza! Bitch made us order 2 pizzas as entrees to allow us passage! We got in the line right as some emo fuck was passing out and being carried out like a rag doll! Dave and I were right by the door to the outside and there were about 100 people outside and it was FREEZING! We were so lucky to remember the “secret”! Anyway we got in and got a couple coffees as I did not want a hangover for breakfast this morning at work! Went and got our shirts and the merch guy gave me 2 more shot glasses for tipping him! We found a couple seats right behind the sound board and up about 3 feet higher than him. 1st band was UTTER SHIT! I could not believe they were even there! Muddy crappy melodic junk and the singer would pick up a Sax or some other wind instrument and commence to playing solos with it and they were OMG suxor! Next time you guys need a filler band Chimaira just ask as my band is right down the road and would gladly play for ya for free! Just one chance would be great and I would take you all out fro dinner and drinks after just for the opportunity! SO the next band was Dino’s new band “Divine Heresy”! Much better but still not that good! Ripping triple picking going into those “Fear Factory” choruses I hate but the crowd got more pumped as Dino can pick with the best of them! Drummer was nice! We had about 4 coffees each by now so jumpy and ready for the boys to come on! Did not see a wink of them until right when they came on! They played 7 songs and it was:

The Flame- Pummeling but a little off now and then again due to sound
Power Trip- The show cocaine bump every time!(not me just figure of speech)
worthless- Perfect and crowd sang along great!
Black Heart- Tight and Brutal
Salvation- This was beautiful and again a bit off on the sound but I was up and banging big time!
Resurrection- No words needed! Just the SHIT!
Pure Hatred- Out with the anthem and the crowd again knew every word!
In and out! The sound was shit as the house board was all weird! The treble would jump and etc… BUT they sounded very dark and heavy this night which was SWEET! The crowd REALLY was waiting for Chimaira to come on as most of the fans I saw had Chimaira swag on! They just pummeled our ass and were gone! So show ends and we left before ATR came on as I could care less to see them! Funny thing was that when we were getting our car from the garage about 100 Chimaira fans were leaving at the same time! Great show! It really makes me appreciate the x-mas show as they play so long and are much more accessible to the crowd! Mez tried to get me a photo pass to no avail(thanks for trying Mez) and that really sucked as I got a new camera and wanted to take some shots for Mez as he was not there but got the shut down from the boys! Dunno why but thought they have their own photographer or some shit but it would be nice sometime to get at least a nod from my fave band in the world for our support and dedication to them! Again I understand but just wished I could FINALLY meet them all and take Mez some great shots! Drove 6 hours for 45 minutes and worth every penny still would be nice to get to know the guys a little better and just tell them how much they have meant to me over the years but I digress…
Again, Chimaira I ain’t mad at ya just wish I could meet you guys and just do something to help the band out now and then! I really do respect you guys and have learned so much about dedication and playing with others and the whole band thing even more than I could have dreamed! You have helped my band relationships and song structures shine in the past few months! Rob responded to a PM I sent him once and that was SO cool it sent shivers down my back that he cared enough just to share a few tips and secrets to keeping your band tight and focused! Love to meet you guys and if you could ever get me backstage or just hang with you guys for one night in one of your “before show rooms” That would rock and be al I need to reinforce how much us fans mean to you! Just once is all I ask but I know what people will respond with about “sucking up and shit but fuck that I could care less about autographs and them needing to get their egos stroked over and over just a big hug and a thanks! Chimaira for LIFE!
