The 4th Music As A Weapon tour is shaping up to be the biggest one so far. First off, here are the 4 bands performing on the mainstage: joining headliners Disturbed will be Killswitch Engage, Chimaira and Lacuna Coil. In addition to the mainstage acts, there will be a tattoo and music festival as well. Some of the world's best tattoo artists will be traveling with the tour, including Oliver Peck and Hart & Huntington. They will be joined by some of the top local tattoo artists in each market. Everyone attending the show will have the opportunity to schedule an appointment in advance with the tattoo artist of their choice and get some new ink at the shows. Tattooing will happen as local ordinances allow. There will also be an extreme sports exhibition including Freestyle and Half Pipe from top action sports stars, a second stage with additional bands performing, a vendor village and much more. Full details, tour dates and on-sale dates will be coming soon. All information and future announcements regarding the tour can be found at the official MAAW web site, www.musicasaweapon4.com. The website will go live on January 27th.
Best tour of the year? I'm sure most of you are gonna rip on Disturbed, but i'm a huge fan of them as well as the other 3 (duh), so i'm definitely not missing this tour if it stops by near me.

Cool, I wonder who the supporting acts will be...

Let's take bets on the prices. :/
And with some fantastic luck, the tour won't hit Cleveland for some odd reason.
But yeah, totally pumped for this concert. I don't really listen to Lacuna Coil, but the other three are awesome!
3 of my favorite bands, and lacuna coil. That is going to be a sick show.
And yeah I agree with Silent, it probably won't come here.
In terms of ticket prices, i'm guessing between 40-50 before charges.

I am down for 3/4ths of them. But it will be fun to leave early after ripping on Disturbed with my friends again.
I am guessing Five Finger Death Punch to be added.

not that i could ever dream of making it but.. it looks a lot better than mayhem tour.
mainly because it has Chimaira on the list.
sucks about Disturbed tho.
terrible, terrible. geez chimaira havent been on many tours that i have liked recently. think i'll be passing this up. lacuna coil? whens the last time they had an album out?
chim666aira
14-01-09, 05:30 PM
Is this like Ozzfest or SOTU where they will have other bands, (usually better then several headliners) opening or is it just a tour where this is the lineup with some locals?
terrible, terrible. geez chimaira havent been on many tours that i have liked recently. think i'll be passing this up. lacuna coil? whens the last time they had an album out?
They have one coming out this year, as do Chimaira and Killswitch Engage.

I just thought more about this. I think it is a great opportunity for Chimaira as they will get to open radio metal douche bag Disturbed fans onto great metal.
Also anyone else picture how many Tapout and Affliction douches will be at this show because of KSE and Disturbed? Oh and the former high school football players who want to still be cool by ruling the pit. AHahha sorry about the end rant.

No doubt it's a great opportunity to gain more fans for Chim.
The downside for people who would primarily go for Chimaira and aren't huge fans of the other bands is that Chimaira will probably get a 30 minute set. It looks like they'll be the first of those mainstage bands to play every night.
five finger death punch were originally supposed to be on it, but arent, so fuck them
pretty sure these are the only bands on the tour, so im not sure what this "mainstage" business is about, maybe they will have a small stage of locals or some stupid shit
chim necessarily isnt the first band
this tour is great for chim, cause aside from their short stint on ozzfest, this is probably going to be their biggest tour to date, and playing to a lot people who probably dont know them
aside from fucking horrible disturbed, kse/chim/lacuna is a fucking killer lineup and i cant wait to see it
I personally love all the bands announced so far. Fuck genres and all that bullshit, good music is good music. Chimaira, KSE, and disturbed are literally 1,2,3 on my top 5 so this tour is going to be amazing for me.
Btw where did you hear KSE is releasing a new album this year? Not doubting it, I just haven't heard anything about it.
Btw where did you hear KSE is releasing a new album this year? Not doubting it, I just haven't heard anything about it.
on the cover of the new revolver with an interview inside talking about it. at the time of the interview they were writing, and talking about possibly bringing an outside producer in for it. that had to have been a month or two ago, so id imagine they are on the verge of recording by now. dont think they would line up a major tour like this if they werent going to be done before it.

Yepp on KSE. And Disturbed hasn't put out a full on good album since The Sickness. Sorry BWOMP. Plus their stage show puts me to sleep. David Draiman is as much of a douche as Scott Stapp and Chad Krogger, all three of which think they are a Christlike figure on stage. BARF.

two of my favourite bands Chimaira and KSE. Lacuna Coil has some good songs. Used to like Disturbed back in the day.
Very interesting!
Chimaira and KsE on the same bill is always good.
Just need to wait for dates to come out now I guess.

hey everyone
some quick answers
we will be rotating with lacuna
yes there is a cleveland date
i am not sure what the second stage is going to be like but i heard a rumor of a band people have actually heard of, so not just locals
this tour is in arenas - huge exposure for us
30 minute set, but we can squeeze more than 5 songs i assure you - our average song length is not 6 minutes haha
Do you happen to know if this tour will be hitting Canada?

I agree that it will be a great opportunity for Chimaira to gain some new fans and get some exposure. As much as I don't want to see Disturbed, I guess I can always leave early.
Yeah I'm going Hell or High Water and hope I can just kick it with the guys after they play! Wouldn't mind seeing KSE although I don't really like them much either so this whole show will be for one band! Who knows? I'll go with an open mind and may love the other bands! BUT Disturbed will never have a place in my heart as that singer is just flat out Creepy! Donegan can shred though so that will be cool!
I just dream the dream of if they could have joined Metalica for their tour! WOW! THAT would be Rob's Wet Dream! WOW

Just had to post this off blabbermouth...
"pretty much blows...Disturbed are trying to connect with the little teenage boys with this line up. Killswitch Engage are fairly new to the mainstream (compared to Disturbed). I remember 'Last Serenade' back in like 2003 but I'm sure they weren't heard of before that hardly. Then the lead singer quit and now they got some Black guy who annoys the hell out of me so they suck. Lacuna Coil has that one good cover I can't think of the name of it and Chimaira are another one of those metalcore bands. Disturbed should have put some bands that belong in their own sub genre like Ill Nino, Static-X, P Roach, Nonpoint, or Drowning Pool....those are the bands that Disturbed are more associated with. NOW they are just trying to 'fit in' to this new mainstream metal scene that is taking hold that just flat out sucks dick. Them and Slipknot seem to be doing this often these days....it's cool though, I'll wait to see them on a radio show or something when they come with bands that actually matter."
Disturbed have always connected with "little teenage boys" hahaha. Back in the day when I was 14/15 was when I was into them ffs. Plus slipknot/disturbed started off playing with you know, more "metal" bands, then played with more mainstream sounding acts. So if anything these bands are having more courage now to go back to playing to a bigger market of people, not just the same genre
But yes, this is great for Chimaira, disturbed pulls a big croud. Was the same for when they played with korn
When is this going to happen?
I hope itīs over till the festival season begins here in europe so that Chimaira can show us their new materials potential!!!
I'm 98% sure they will be doing the European festival circuit this year.

From METALSUCKS.com:
"When it was announced last month that Killswitch Engage would be on Disturbed’s fourth Music as a Weapon tour, we were flooded with so many irate e-mails from readers you’d have thought that Howard Jones had just been caught raping hundreds of metal fans’ mothers; KSE fans just couldn’t seem to wrap their heads around the concept of the American New Wavers acting as support for one of the most love ‘em or loathe ‘em nu metal acts on the planet. We didn’t report on the development at the time, though. Frankly, I figured it was just one of those things; sometimes awesome bands tour with crappy ones. You can’t please all the people all the time.
But now that Chimaira and Lacuna Coil have joined the tour, I gotta ask: what the frick?
I guess I really shouldn’t be too surprised; “real” metal is back “in” these days, as evidenced by the fact that Metallica have traded support acts like Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Kid Rock for bands like Lamb of God, Machine Head and The Sword. It benefits Disturbed to have bands like these on their tour because bands like these are trendy right now (having just played the Mayhem tour, Disturbed and their handlers may be more aware of this fact than ever), and it benefits KSE, Lacuna Coil and Chimaira to be on the tour because, frankly, Disturbed have a massive audience and it’s a chance to potentially win over lots and lots of new fans.
So, yes, it sucks that if you wanna see the three support acts you’ll have to put money in David Draiman’s pocket. But look at this way: when you leave early, you’ll totally beat the post-show parking lot traffic.
Now, if Disturbed really wanna make headlines, they should invite The Dillinger Escape Plan to be on the tour…

I agree with Mark, like I said EXPOSURE.

So, I'm guessing this will be hitting the Cleveland Ampitheater? I can't even remember its garbage advertisement name. Well, I guess I could stick around for Disturbed just to hear some old tunes (if they play any). I might just stay to get my money's worth if the tickets are like 40 bucks. If they're anywhere cheaper, I'll just leave after KSE.
I'm 98% sure they will be doing the European festival circuit this year.
I'm 99.99999999999999% sure. If you catch my drift....

He said arena, so I am looking it more like CSU Wolstein Center.

I think first Dillinger needs to make sure they can keep a drummer for more than a year.

i was reading a review on metal news and it made me proud. this is what they had to say about chimaira! full article here http://www.metalunderground.com/news/details.cfm?newsid=43922
'Next up was Chimaira. They might as well have been the last band of the night because they brought the house down. The agression they brought to the stage completely made me forget that I was surrounded by teenyboppers (it was an all-ages event.) I felt like I was in a smoky, sweaty, bar in a seedy part of town hoping my ears don't start bleeding from the ridiculously loud volume. I was headbanging along as were all to the awesome tunes they ripped from their instruments. They also played for only thirty minutes, coming in under ten songs, two from the newest album "The Infection." They were fucking great!"

I was proud to have gone to the Orlando show. I truly feel that they are making new fans every stop. If any of you are heading to the future shows print up the fliers. It is not expensive to print up 100 of the flies, and have them slice the page into two making 200 fliers. They have a meet and greet at 4:30, there will be a line. Pass the fliers out. People will love to get the flier signed. I wish I brought more because I ran out. We need to keep spreading the infection even after the release date. Come on and keep working on getting a huge release for Chimaira!!!
Nice Work Ink!!!!!!!! A True Fan!
and I doubt Rob had much to do with his level and it could have been as simple as his level getting bumped prior to the show! AT LEAST HE DIDN'T HIT HIS MUTE BUTTON like he did for the 10th show! That was hilarious!

And what the fuck is with Dan Donnegans stupid fucking jumps?
What a fucking retard.
how do these guys get to play arenas? we have bigger problems than the economy and terrorists, we have straight up mass gatherings of retards taking over america one disturbed show at a time
Oh and David Draimen has the stage presence of a fucking school janitor.
Fucking hell.
SO I get the feeling this will be as weird or weirder than DethCock right? Makes it a bit more fun I guess to show these kids what the REAL deal is!
Dying to know which new song is next on the Live list!?!?!

The Cleveland show has been MOVED to Time Warner Ampitheater! It will NOT be at the Wolstein Center anymore.

Went to Detroit & Cleveland over the weekend. Both show were great. The guys sound so good and the more I listen to the new songs, the more I can't stop. Secrets of the dead and Destroy & Dominate are so awesome live. At the Detroit show, I got the pleasure to take a few pictures of the crowd and one with Mark with the crowd behind him. It was awesome seeing the arena going nuts for the guys. I know they've been selling records like hot cakes and people were asking about them. The exposure is getting bigger and better, which is fantastic. Cleveland crowd, yes some people didn't seem to know who they were, looked like they loved the guys. I know I suck at writing reviews, but just know the guys kicked ass, and they are infecting all in their path.
photos soon.....

I think you might have too. Mark said after the set in cleveland, see you guys at CCX. So I'm going to assume, that it means, no home area show until xmas...

Mr. Smalls is a great venue. I've been there 2x and got lost both times. Its an old church built in the middle of a small community. Pretty unique location for sure.
