I have just been speaking to someone who has heard the new Chimaira album. Some of you might know the guy, Dan?? He used to work for Metal Hammer and has just transferred over to Kerrang!. Anyway, he sent me a personal message about the new record and I nearly wet myself with what he said.
He said the record is soooooooooooo fucking heavy. He said the production is immense and says there's so much going on this record, he has no doubt that this will be a ground breaking album. He said unlike Killswitch Engage's last record that sounded flat, this record sounds huge.
There's so much going on on this record. V. Fucking heavy.LOTS of guitar solos (and I mean LOTS!). It's a mixture of the last album crossed with oldschool Pantera and 'Seasons In The Abyss'-era Slayer.

I know some of you will probably say something like 'Im going to wait till it's officially announced before I get excited, but this is someone who has just come from hearing the tracks down in the studio in London where they're finalising the tracks.
He said they have 3 finished mixed tracks and 7 unmixed.

thanks you fellow puke-pot!!! i totally agree that this will be groundbreaking for them. and think about it...everyone who loves metal has GOT to know Chimaira!!! how could they not?! i mean they have toured with Slipknot, Killswitch, Shadows Fall, SLAYER, and OZZFEST!!! and i know that they are LOVED here in VA. whenever they come i always ask the people in line, "who are you here to see" and SERIOUSLY everyone is just like "FUCKING CHIMAIRA, CHIMAIRA CHIMAIRA!!!" they are doing GREAT!!! i am proud to see them doing well and wish them even more success and killer tunes!

I don't tend to listen to reviews, so while it sounds cool, I'm still reserving judgement until I hear it. I am pretty excited about it though!

i can get into some new KSE as well though. the old stuff was definitely more aggressive, however, you couldn't hear anything Jesse was saying. the new stuff is more melodic, yet you can hear what Howard is screaming, so i just love both of em
KSE is a great fucking band but they seriously need Jesse back. If you haven't heard his new band Seemless, I think you should check them out.
The new Chimaira album, eventhough we haven't heard anything yet, I already know it kicks fuckin ass!!! I'm buying this shit the day it comes out.

they're like bluesy metal
mix Corrosion of Conformity, Soundgarden, Down, Metallica (Load, REload style), but heavier than all those bands, a great fucking vocalist, and there ya go.
