Why not a poll?

I'd have to say SOTD. Not that I hate it, but it is the one I'm most likely to skip. Great thing about The Infection is that I don't often skip anything. Except the 5 mins of silence.

Sorry but that.
Twas my first time putting one up.

I'd have to agree the you about SOTD. Spot on.

It was between Impending Doom and Try to Survive, but i chose Impending Doom, they're the only 2 songs i cant get into at all...

Secrets Of The Dead, although it is still my ringtone. Interesting how it is one of the bands favourites yet the most likely track a lot of us would skip.

Frozen In Time... I actually quite like it, but I love pretty much all the others. I absolutely fucking love Secrets now, definitely in my top 3 with Coming Alive and Try To Survive.

Frozen In Time would be in my top 3 Nick lol. I love how it's structured. A lot different for a Chimaira song. It's also the main song from the album that I can never get out of my head.

I think the only reason I dont like Secrets Of The dead as much as the rest of the album is because it has a weak chorus. Chimaira have such great, catchy choruses but it wasnt until I heard 'the unholy are lifeless...' part for the second time in the song that I realised it was actually the chorus.

Anyone heard the demo of Secrets of the Dead? I love that version of the song. The album version is good but my least fav on the album. The riff they cut from the demo version is pure awesome. Maybe the band has already answered this, but I'd be interested in why such a significant portion of original version was cut for the album version. Anyone know?

I just don't like the way the verse comes to a screeching halt when the chorus comes in, the beats just seem really off between the two parts and they don't work together I don't think.

But hey, if that's the worst part of the album, then that's a good thing!

Impending Doom

Only because it starts off so slow. I like it once it gets going but some times I just don't want to wait...

So true, when i was listening to it in my car i noticed how long it was going for but it was really cool and interesting. I think on the dvd it says how Ben Schigel decided on what should be cut out etc, not 100% sure though.

As for Frozen In Time, at first i couldnt really get into the chorus but after a while it really grew on me and now i fucking love that track, right up there with Lazarus as one of my favorite Chimaira songs!!!

Thanks! I'll have to watch it again. I also enjoyed the Tool-esque riff that was cut from Impending Doom.

Can't say I have a least favorite. The album flows so well that I usually don't skip any songs. The only one I occasionally skip is SOTD but that's because I listened to that about a million times when it was released.

on broken glass has really great vocals, but it just seems super bland. I switched out that song with revenge on my ipod, album flows so much better now.

On Broken Glass has grown to be my favourite. I love Chimairas short, fast paced songs, like Revenge also. If im showing anybody who hasnt heard Chimaira before a song off The Infection, it's On Broken Glass.

The Venom Inside is the only song I skip almost every listen. Every other song fuckin owns.

I skip SOTD and D&D but its because i over exposed myself to them before the infection was released. Actually Impending doom is a top choice of mine for fav.

I think SOTD just got killed before the album came out. I still like it a lot, along with all the songs.

Destroy and Dominate is my least favorite. It's a heavy song but it's just not that exciting to listen to after the first few times through. It was between that or Venom Inside but the intro/outro put Venom ahead by a little.

I still listen to every other song almost every day.

Why the hell do so many people dislike "Impending Doom" (granted, 6 isn't "a lot" of people, but a large percentage of the poll)?? It's amazing, one of the best, imo!

I voted D&D. I guess I kinda wore it out on myself during the build up to the infection.

Not even having Secrets Or D&D prior to release burned me out on those songs.

The album as a whole is a masterpiece and I don't have any tracks that I actively skip.

It has to be the only album I can do this with. When I start it, it plays right through to the end pretty much every time.

In short, I have no least favourite.

I havent been listening to it much at all lately. That seems to happen with slower paced albums. I loved All Shall Perish last album for about 3 weeks and i've hardly listened to it since. Something about a band slowing it down is awesome to begin with then after a while not as fun. Been listening to Revenge and On Broken Glass a lot. I know i'll get back into again when I least expect though, just like all Chimaira albums.

I am amazed 3 people have voted for The Heart of it All....That song is so badass.

Venom Inside, Impending Doom, and Coming Alive are the only songs I skip frequently. I love the rest of the songs.

Impending Doom I'm afraid. Can't get into it, not my thing.

I can't skip a single track on this one, anytime. On Resurrection I'd skip "Killing the Beast" and "End It All" usually, but on the Infection... man, just can't skip one!

honestly I've realized I never skip songs, I like all of them. Shit even satan's wizard. It's sad usually have chimaira playing in the stereo and in the car for about 4 months straight at a time before I'm convinced to change (to another cd lul)
