Board Rules and Guidelines for 2011

This is a reiteration and update of the existing rules and posting guidelines for the Chimaira boards for 2011.

For those of you that don't know, the Chimaira sections of the board are publicly readable, and are also searched by Google. As a result these rules are in place.

No links to download/listen to/view any commercially available material, or discussing where to obtain such material illegally:
Anyone found posting links or discussing where to obtain either unreleased or commercially available material will be dealt with.

Asking to have material sent via PM/email is also frowned upon.

First time offenders will have the post deleted and a warning, after that it'll be a temp ban, the length of which is at the discretion of the moderators.

PLEASE NOTE: Youtube links to commercially available material are allowed.

No discussion of leaked Chimaira material:
"The Age Of Hell" is set to drop in August. It is an unfortunate inevitability that some material will leak out at some point.

The whole internet and it's dog may be discussing the new stuff, but not on here until we say so - which will probably be release day.

No Nudity:
This is an all ages board and anyone posting nudity or explicit images on the forums will be banned without question.

Length of ban will be at the discretion of the Admin, however repeat offenders will be banned forever. Never to return.

Keep posts On Topic:
There are a number of forums for varying topics so first off, make sure you are posting in the right forum. If you are at all unsure where to post a new thread then simply post it in "General Chat" and one of the team will move to a more appropriate forum if need be.

It's also easy for posts to go off topic during the course of a discussion. This is fine and inevitable but lets try and keep things topic where appropriate.

Treat others with respect:
On the internet, it's easy for people to lose perspective and say things to people online that they wouldn't dare say to someone in real life.

Consider your posts on the Chimaira forums as if you were having a conversation face to face. If you don't have the balls to say certain things in real life, then don't bother saying it on here.

No personal attacks:
This used to say "No unnecessary personal attacks" however, on these boards, there is no such thing as a neccassary personal attack.

This is quite simple. We want this to be a friendly environment for everyone and with that in mind we ask everyone to maintain a degree of respect for your fellow Chimaira Forum Users. You don't have to like very single member on here and be best buddies but similarly, you don't have to call someone an ass hole and berate them because they like a band/film/beer/girl you don't.

There is no warning system for this and if you are deemed to be making personal attacks against a fellow member then you will be banned at the discretion of the Admin/Mods.

Make an effort with your typing:
We're not saying you should run every post through a spelling and grammar checker, but please make at least half an effort to make your post readable. It wouldn't kill you use paragraphs and commas every once in a while.

Be careful about what you post:
This is the internet after all, so please be careful about posting personal information.

Thou shalt not ask why Mark cut thy dreads
Instant ban. ;)

Keep your signature to a respectable size:
We do don't have any specific pixel height/width guidelines at the moment, so please apply common sense.

The Team

You can go HERE (http://www.board.chimaira.com/showgroups.php) to view the forum leaders.

Severity is going to be away with the military for the next while and 1ceman is taking care of his family and doesn't have anywhere near as much spare time just now.

So should you encounter any problems, please do not hesitate to get in touch with either the Admin team of Betz, Sepultallica9 or myself. or our Moderators Roboturner and Mezgarth.

Cheers!
